Auditions

Bard on the Beach engages professional artists who are members of Canadian Actors' Equity Association under the terms of the Independent Theatre Agreement.

General Auditions are held by appointment each August. Deadlines and submission procedures will be posted here when available.

Both Equity and non-Equity artists may apply by sending a resume, photo and cover letter to:

Please be sure that your application includes your current mailing address, phone number and email.
Bard does not accept resumes by fax or e-mail.

Those selected for a General Audition will be asked to prepare two contrasting Shakespeare monologues (maximum of two minutes each) and a short verse of an unaccompanied melodic song (30 seconds maximum).

Casting Auditions are by invitation and will not be posted. Except in extraordinary circumstances, artists will not be invited to a casting audition unless they have been seen at a general audition in recent years.

It is recommended that current and recent company members indicate their anticipated availability for Bard's 2010 Season no later than September 8, 2009. Artists who have been invited to casting auditions in the last two seasons may also indicate their interest. Bard's 2010 season will be announced September 26, 2009.
