Young Shakespearean Workshops

Welcome to Young Shakespeareans 2014!

Join our troupe of Young Shakespeareans for an unforgettable theatrical adventure!

Professional actors from our company bring Shakespeare’s words to life through coaching in voice, movement and dialogue, all through activities designed to boost confidence and foster relationships. We want our Young Shakespeareans to gain ease with the language, passion for the text and friendships that last long beyond the summer.

All workshops take place on the Bard stages and culminate in a presentation for family and friends. Every registration includes complimentary tickets - for the Young Shakespearean and a guest – to the Bard Mainstage matinee performance on the day of the presentation.* If you wish to purchase additional tickets for this performance, please do so well in advance so that your party has a better chance of being seated together.

REGISTRATION DRAW:  Due to the popularity of our workshops we use a registration draw to ensure that access to this program is as fair as possible. Be sure to read the Registration Info Sheet before filling in your form. To be entered in the draw, please complete and send in the form before the deadline: Friday, February 28, 2014. Registration requests received after the deadline will be processed on a first come, first served basis.

RIOTOUS YOUTH: We are excited to announce a brand new program for former Young Shakespeareans, aged 19-24 years. Selected candidates will assist Young Shakespearean teaching artists, deliver pre-show talks to patrons, participate in weekly classes, prepare their own Shakespeare piece for presentation to family, friends and the Bard company and receive an honorarium.

BURSARIES:  Bursary application forms can be downloaded from the website. If you would like to contribute to the bursary fund and help increase access to this extraordinary program, there is an opportunity to do so on the Young Shakespeareans registration form.

We look forward to seeing you this summer for some comedy, tragedy, history or romance with the Young Shakespeareans of 2014!

*The complimentary tickets for SA9 & SA10 will be for the mainstage matinee on July 27th and complimentary tickets for ID15 will be for an evening performance on August 3rd.
